One of the best decisions we ever made in the Brahman business was to get even more involved with our dear friends, The Cutrer Family, and buy into their high selling Tugboat Captain bull. He has consistently sired cattle with exceptional Brahman breed character, quality, pigment, and a strong polled factor. It was an easy choice when we considered he was out of one of if not the best grey polled females the breed has ever seen who coincidently was the only POLLED National Champion Female and his sire is the one and only +M2 BRC Captain 518/1.
On the female side of these two prospects:
230/5 is out of a daughter of Mr. V8 520/7 and out of a full sister to The Canik’s +SS 230 and their other Reserve International Champion +Miss CF 230. 230/5’s brother is the many time champion New Frontier 230/2.
722/5 is out of Chandler’s first Grey Brahman Female that remains productive as one of our oldest foundation cows. She is from one of our longest Hill Country friends the O.W. and late Donna Schneider Family. We always thought two of their best cows were of course the International Champion +Lady H Lisa Manso 947/7 and this heifer’s grandmother +Lady H Rockette Manso 941. The 722 cow is sired by The Schneider’s polled 338 bull and she is the dam to one of our previous polled sale toppers.
There is almost six weeks of age difference in these two heifers. They are loving the creep feed and could probably be weaned and make it to a validation within the week.
