This female sexed embryo package is the one that resulted in LMC LF Polled Black Beauty (P) and her flushmate brother LMC LF Polled Gunsmoke 147/3 (P) who have both hung banners over the past 18 months.  Black Beauty was named as the 2024 All American Reserve Calf Champion and then picked up a Reserve Grand Champion title at the STAR Show and a Division Win at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show Junior Show.  Gunsmoke picked up a Reserve Division Championship at the San Antonio Livestock Show and a Division win at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show.  At both San Antonio and RGVLS Black Beauty and Gunsmoke joined up to win the ET Produce of Dam Class for their dam LMC LF Polled Hazel 175/0 (P).  Hazel is a full sister to LMC LF Polled Spirit 185/7 (PP) who many consider to be our best cow.  Hazel is out of the 2016 Reserve International Champion Grey Female +LMC Polled Passion 55/4 and by the #1 most widely used polled sire in the breed +Mr. V8 279/7.

 

The sire to the female sexed embryos is MCC Polled Smoke 14/9 (P) who has been one of the most popular sires in the breed due to his black color and polled status.  Polled Smoke’s sire results from crossing one of the foundation black sires +JME Mr. Suvacrat 225 (P) with the 2010 International Champion Grey Female and the dam to the 2022 International & National Champion Female, +Lady H Lisa Manso 947/7.  The dam to Polled Smoke combines a J.D. Hudgins sire with a cow that carries the influence of J. Henry Novak.  It should be known that in the 2024 Brahmans at the Camellia Sale a package of embryos sired by Polled Smoke sold for $9,750/embryo confirming the demand for his genetics.
