MF Ms. Layla 47/3 is a growthy, deep ribbed, and big boned female. Layla is a flushmate to MF Ms. Bronson’s Red Wisky who sold to Bryant-Cardenas Red Brahman Ranch for $10,600 in our Spring 2024 sale and lot 3 in this sale validating the consistency of this mating.
The sire to Layla is +BB Bronson 299/3 who was a consistent show winner, sold ½ interest in the International Sale for $35,000, and sired the following influential winners: Grand & Reserve Grand Champion Bulls at the 2012 World Congress, 2017 Reserve International Champion Female, 2020 International Champion Bull, and the 2024 Reserve Grand Champion Red Female in Mexico. In our opinion Bronson is one of the legendary sires in the breed remaining relevant 20 years after his birth.
The dam to Layla is VL Elena 8/150 who is likely one of our most popular and best-known donors. We saw 8/150 during her show career and thought she was one of the best Brahman heifers that we had seen. She went on to be a many time show winner with one of her biggest accomplishments being named as the 2020 “All American” Reserve Junior Champion Female. Not only is 8/150 phenotypically superior but has 18 registered progeny to include two show point earners and 10 progeny selling with a $6,300 average validating her producing ability. 8/150 is by +VL Rojo Wiskey 1/48, who was a former show bull and now proven sire as confirmed by him siring the 2018 National Champion Female and reaching the ABBA Register of Renown, and out of a daughter of the proven Santa Elena Ranch Herd Sire VL Rojo Designer 2/70 and one of their most influential cow lines.
As might be expected based on her proven pedigree Layla is extremely progressive in her performance values ranking in the top 1/3 of the breed for Weaning Weight, Yearling Weight, Milk, Ribeye Area, and Marbling EPD’s.
In our opinion this is an OUTSTANDING breeding piece!
