Headlining this year’s offering is Miss Sandglass 164/2. This powerful built female is heavy structured, deep bodied, beefy, and extremely attractive. If you attended the Brahman Journal Party during the World Brahman Congress you would have seen 164/2 as we selected her to be one of our display animals. 164/2 resulted from some embryos that came in the Dubina Rose Ranch acquisition. The sire to 164/2 is JDH Mr. Dover Manso 400/0 who was one of the winningest show bulls during his career accumulating 5 Division Titles and 3 Championships including being named the TJBA Grand Champion Bull and the All American Reserve Grand Champion Bull. Following his successful show career Dover has been widely used with over 150 registered progeny in the United States and abroad who have accumulated many championships and most recently a son receiving the Sustainability Champion Award in the ST Genetics Performance Test. Dover is a top son of the National Champion and globally utilized +JDH Mr. Manso 309/4 and out of a donor dam that has produced 29 calves and is the result of crossing the two Vanguard Sires (+)JDH Sir Marri Manso and (+)JDH Charley Manso. The dam to 164/2 is Miss Double A 3/150 who was the calf “in the belly” of Miss V8 351/7 when she sold for $35,000 in the ABBA International Sale in 2013 and then had an aspiration sold in 2017 for $15,000. Miss Double A 3/150 was shown successfully by Ashley Bennett picking up a Reserve Senior Champion title at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Junior Heifer Show. 3/150 went on to be a proven producer with 14 registered progeny to include a National Show Class Winner and many time division champion in ABBA Approved Shows, a many time junior show champion, an International Sale consignment, two donor daughters, a polled replacement for 4F Cattle Co., and a daughter selected to go to Thailand. Miss Double A 3/150 is one of only 62 progeny by the 2009 National Champion Mr. V8 463/6. To further add value to 164/2 she is progressive in her performance profile ranking in the top 4% of the breed for Growth, 3% for Ribeye Area, and 20% for Marbling EPD’s. 164/2 sells BRED with an AI date of 6/20/2024 to Mr. H Madison Manso 563/2 #1047172. We have specifically held this female back for this sale and think that she is a good representative of the kind of cattle that we like to breed and showcase our program.
