In the first Brahmans at the Camellia Sale in 2021 we purchased an aspiration on one of the MOST PROVEN donors on the legendary J.D. Hudgins, Inc. Ranch, +JDH Lady Manso 730. This premier female was first recognized due to her superior show ring success accumulating numerous class wins and division titles at BOTH the International & National Shows. She immediately went to the donor pen where she staked a claim as one of the breed greats with numerous offspring earning show ring titles placing her in the ABBA Register of Renown as well as producing sale toppers in the J.D. Hudgins Production Sales and influencers in some of the breeds most progressive herds. The proven production of 730 should come as no surprise due to her dam producing until she was 18 years of age, producing numerous influential offspring to include JDH Mr. Manso 19/5 who was marketed by ST Genetics and JDH Lady Manso 729 a donor for CE Cattle. The sire to 730 is JDH Mr. Manso 991/4 a proven sire with some of the top sellers and show winners for J.D. Hudgins-Forgason Cattle Company and other progressive ranches. It should be known that last June +JDH Lady Manso 730 died thus outside of frozen genetics there will be no more of her offspring.
When the time came to do the aspiration we studied every available sire in the breed and settled on the 2014 National Champion +JDH Mr. Manso 840 “The Graduate” as the sire we would cross 730 with that ultimately produced Miss Sandglass 80/3 as well as her flushmate selling as lot 9. We like 840 a lot and continue to use him due to the show ring appeal of his offspring but more importantly the productivity of his daughters which should be expected from the cross of the Vanguard Sire (+)JDH Atlas Manso 328/3 and a dam that has produced two Register of Renown herd sires. To further validate the proven production and popularity of 840 he sired the 2024 World Brahman Congress Intermediate Champion Bull and a straw of his semen fetched $5,800 in the last All American Semen Sale making this an even more valuable opportunity.
As you might expect from a planned mating 80/3 is extremely progressive in her performance values charting positive for 12 of the 16 measured traits.
We pride ourselves in breeding, producing, and marketing cattle that are progressive, proven, exciting, and appealing to all sectors of the industry. We feel that Miss Sandglass 80/3 meets all of these goals and encourage you to study this exclusive opportunity closely!
